Hey Everyone, I'm so sorry that I have not updated this blog for over a year.... yea =P too long...
Anyways, CU started out pretty strong this year, and I think we probably have alot more people right now compared to last year ( yea, =( we didn't have that many people last year, maybe bout 5 of us ..... from the afternoon session and thats it... ).

As usual we have our introduction, and we visited the afternoon session. It was really fun as we played fun games and made lots of jokes. Yea =D it was so fun that our Publicity Coordinator couldn't control himself...... and now we have alot more people who enjoy having a great time in our CU meetings... which is every Friday at 12:35 - 1:30 that is. Alright, here's our committee of 2011. =D

Alright, =) to what really happened during our visit to the Afternoon session. If I'm not mistaken, it was on the 7th of January on a Friday at around 5:00 p.m. =P yea.... so we wanted to correct what we did wrong last year..... no electic guitars or noisy drums. Yea it was so noisy last year that it turned out quite boring for the afternoon session .... so we did it old skool style.... just one guitar and the rest of us singing =). Its amazing that with just one small acoustic guitar and some committed singers ... it can make such a big difference.

As usual, we started with praise & worship and everyone had to stand up.... this time instead of people lining up..... we made sure everyone got to see the lyrics on the whiteboard so that everyone could follow.. =D

Yeap .... =) so that everyone can sing & enjoy.
This is when we're all excited what's going to happen next .... XD .... yeap!! Games!!!! oh yea, here's another game... see if you can guess whose body is in the background on the left side of this picture ... =P.

Hey there! Now we're gonna talk about Easter. XD

Okay, when you hear about Good Friday and Easter Sunday, what do you usually think about?Normally,

No.1 - School holidays!

No.2 - Easter rabbits

No.3 - Chocolate eggs

And what else? So, Easter is not about all the above, but its the celebration of Jesus rising from the grave on the 3rd day after He was crucified on the cross. There, thats point number one! XD

Point number twoooo, Easter is the day where Satan and death is defeated by Jesus. So that means, we can overcome anything, including death, because we have the same power that Jesus has over everything. =D

And lastly, its the day where people get together to remember what Christ did for us. So, we should forgive and help one another like how He had helped us.

Dei, dei, dei! =D
Helloooo peopleeee! Heh. I am so very sorry. Took quite some time to get to this and yeah. Hahah. My baaad. I know you guys have been waiting and here it is, the CHINESE NEW YEAR PARTAAAY! ;D

It all started off with praise and worship and then we went on to the games. So sorry but we forgot to take pictures during the praise and worship session. Will totally remember to get that done the next time. Heh. There were quite a number of people and praise God for that. We all had fun. Let the pictures do the talking. =]

I see food, you see food. Now say, GIVE IT TO MEEE. =p We had refreshments people! Gone in a matter of minutes. Haha. Before we could even start games, they were all looking at the refreshments. Nyeheh. Oh what joy of being able to steal a few first.

And the games got started. Josh, John and Daniel settled the game that was played and it was awesomely fun. You're given an image and you gotta draw it and it'll be passed on by drawing on each others backs until the end product.

We had the Interact Club President along with us, Pravin! =D

We had the Nature Society President with us too, Wei Shen! :]

Tell me man, how did you get from that to that? TELL IT TO MEEE. Why did you cut the CU?! Hahha. =D

Yeah, you see what I mean now. *shakes head* People, what is going on? Hahah.

Of course, we had to do the usual play around with the President. So, yeaah. Here we have, Mr. Methane! =D

Deiii! Did you have a good time or what, guys?! Eventho' it's been like weeks after that party but it's still fresh in my head. Cause God was there and whenever God is there and you feel Him working, you will of course remember it. Amen?

School's out! So there won't be any CU meetings this week, sadly. Come on everyone, sigh with me. *sigh* =D

Chinese New Year. I knooow exactly what comes to mind. ;) Ang pao, oh yes. Just at the right time when the cash is running out, huh? Haha. Well, it's pretty normal for you to count and sum up all the money you collected at the end of Chinese New Year instead of counting how many ang pao's you got. I know, I know, I've always been doing that.

I've came to realize that it isn't about the amount of money that you're getting but the number of red packets you get. See how uncles and aunties are blessing you this Chinese New Year and learn to really appreciate it. You shouldn't always be going through the same old motion every single year, no? =)

Then think to yourselves, God is actually using them to bless me with what God thinks I need. Isn't just through all the red packets you get but see this in every situation you're in even if it's a tough one. God is truly blessing you in a way that you don't even realize.

God is great, He's awesome and I can see him working in our CU and all the other fellowships in other schools. I'm challenging myself to seek more of Him this week, you should too. :] You'll be busy going around visiting houses but find time to think through the whole day and how God blessed you throughout the day. Even the little things. Really keeps you going. =]

Have you ever wondered why you're in school? Well, yeah, the typical answers, to study, gain knowledge, have loads of fun, make a mess of the whole school, maybe? Haha. Aight, better not get that last example in that head of yours. ;D

The point here is you're at where you are for a reason. In this school for a reason, in Christian Union for a reason. School is somewhere where you can make a difference, and you don't have too much to handle. Take this opportunity, doesn't matter how long more you have in school, be that difference, be that light, take that step. The opportunities are everywhere, you just have to be sensitive to it, even your actions are opportunities.

Whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.
- Colossians 3:17

Then only can people truly understand your stand.

You may be wondering, 'What may people thinking of me? I'm being different from them and not fitting in, am scared that they would make fun of me'. Well, that's quite a normal thing to feel. There is people in school here for you, we are, you don't need to be scared. All the more when you've Him by your side. ;)

You may complain bout school and bout how boring and draggy it is or put yourself to full use and be that light for Him. (= Oh and not to forget, it won't be boring and draggy for you in school during Fridays! We have CU meetings! =D

Be a witness, join the Christian Union, be a part of the Recess Revolution.

All this while, you've been in school, what has the purpose been the whole time, ask yourselves. ;]

What We Don't Deserve
What Jesus means when he says "Blessed are the merciful."

"Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy." —Matthew 5:7, ESV
At first, Matthew 5:7 seems to imply that Jesus is making a deal with us: If we go out and show mercy to others, God will show mercy to us.

And it seems like a good deal. I mean, how hard could it be to show mercy to others? So we'll practice a little mercy, and then God will act the same toward us, and all will be well with the world. And for eternity.

Except that it's not that easy to be merciful.

Your brother borrows your iPod, and when he gives it back, it doesn't play. He says, "Sorry."

You say, "'Sorry' doesn't cut it. You need to replace what you broke."

He says, "OK. That's fair. But I don't have any money till next week. And then I need to buy a gift for Mom's birthday, and I need to start saving money for the prom."

You say, "I don't care. You ruined my iPod, and you need to replace it."

He says, "I know. I'm sorry. But things are tight right now. Can't you give me a break?"

And that's when it's really hard to forgive. To let it go. To be merciful.

Just as it's hard to leave your own friends to sit down by the class reject sitting alone at lunch. Or to give your last $15 to the food drive for the hungry when you had your heart set on going to a movie with friends that afternoon. Or to want to even talk to the person who made the cut on the basketball team when you didn't.

That's when "Blessed are the merciful for they shall receive mercy" doesn't seem like much of a good deal. It feels like a curse. All we can think about is how unmerciful we can be when we're self-centered, or indifferent, or even cruel. Then we're thinking, I'm in trouble. I'm never going to receive mercy at this rate. I don't deserve it.

And that's when the turning point comes. It's at that point that the mercy of God starts making its way into our lives. It begins by us turning that hopelessness into prayer:

"Lord, I'm in trouble. I'm self-centered. I don't deserve your mercy, but I need it."

And the Lord gives us a break. He forgives. He shows mercy.

And that's why it's easier to give your brother a break. And to practice mercy in all sorts of difficult situations. Not because we're trying to prove something, or get something from God, but simply because God has proven something to us by giving us something we didn't deserve: mercy. We become merciful because we've been shown mercy.

When Jesus says blessed are the merciful for they shall receive mercy, he assumes that you really can't be merciful until you've received mercy in the first place. Mercy is not a deal, but an ongoing lifestyle. We receive mercy then we show mercy and as a result we receive more mercy, and as a result, we then show more mercy—and on and on.

It's like we're rolling a snowball downhill. We start with a small one, maybe the size of a baseball. As we toss it down the hill, immediately gravity starts to pull it farther downhill. As it rolls over, of course, it collects more snow. Now it's bigger and heavier, and so gravity pulls it even harder. It rolls over even faster, and collects more snow, and gets heavier, and rolls faster. And so on. Before you know it, it's a huge ball, bounding down the hill. That's how it is with mercy: The more we receive mercy, the more we give mercy.

Because we get distracted and have long bouts with selfishness, we collect sticks and branches in our little ball, and that slows us down. Sometimes we come to a complete halt, stuck halfway down the mountain. So we find ourselves remembering that we didn't deserve to roll as far as we had in the first place, and that without God's mercy, we'll go no farther. And that's when God comes along, trims off the branches sticking out from us, and gives us that little push to start us rolling downhill again, so that we can practice and enjoy mercy upon mercy upon mercy upon mercy.

On a map in the back of my Bible, each of Paul’s missionary journeys is shown by a colored line with arrows indicating his direction of travel. On the first three, the arrows lead away from his place of departure and back to a point of return. On the fourth journey, however, Paul was traveling as a prisoner, bound for trial before Caesar, and the arrows point only one direction, ending in Rome.

We might be tempted to call this an unfortunate time in Paul’s life, if it were not for his view that God was leading and using him just as much on this journey as He did on the previous three.

He wrote: “I want you to know, brethren, that the things which happened to me have actually turned out for the furtherance of the gospel, so that it has become evident to the whole palace guard, and to all the rest, that my chains are in Christ; and most of the brethren in the Lord, having become confident by my chains, are much more bold to speak the Word without fear” (Phil. 1:12-14).

Even when our journey in life is marked by confinement and limitations, we can be sure that the Lord will encourage others through us as we speak His Word and trust in Him.

well, jus wanna say, its really been an honour to serve and laugh alongside everyone in the CU. we've had good times, bad times, stressed times, LAME times, touching times, inspiring times, and many other times la.
its been my pleasure meeting all of you
dun worry, i'm still comin for meetings till end of the year...:)

we have our ups and downs, disappointments as well.

Footprints

This bothered me because I noticed that during the low periods of my life, when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat, I could see only one set of footprints, so I said to the Lord..

"You promised me Lord that if I followed You, You would walk with me always. But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life there has only been one set of footprints in the sand. Why, when I needed You most, have You not been there for me?"

Installing LOVE

Tech Support : Hello … how can I help you?

Customer : Well, after much consideration, I’ve decided to install
Love. Can you guide me through the process?

Tech Support : Yes. I can help you. Are you ready to proceed?

Customer : Well, I’m not very technical, but I think I’m ready. What do I do first?

Tech Support : The first step is to open your Heart. Have you
located your Heart?

Customer : Yes, but there are several other programs running now.
Is it okay to install Love while they are running?

Tech Support : What programs are running ?

Customer : Let’s see, I have Past Hurt, Low Self-Esteem, Grudge
and Resentment running right now.

Tech Support : No problem, Love will gradually erase Past Hurt
from your current operating system. It may remain in your permanent
memory but it will no longer disrupt other programs. Love will
eventually override Low Self-Esteem with a module of its own called High
Self-Esteem. However, you have to completely turn off Grudge and
Resentment. Those programs prevent Love from being properly installed.
Can you turn those off ?

Customer : I don’t know how to turn them off. Can you tell me how?

Tech Support : With pleasure. Go to your start menu and invoke
Forgiveness. Do this as many times as necessary until Grudge and
Resentment have been completely erased.

Customer : Okay, done! Love has started installing itself. Is that
normal?

Tech Support : Yes, but remember that you have only the base
program. You need to begin connecting to other Hearts in order to get
the upgrades.

Customer : Oops! I have an error message already. It says, “Error
- Program not run on external components.” What should I do?

Tech Support : Don’t worry. It means that the Love program is set
up to run on Internal Hearts, but has not yet been run on your Heart. In
non-technical terms, it simply means you have to Love yourself before
you can Love others.

Customer : So, what should I do?

Tech Support : Pull down Self-Acceptance; then click on the
following files: Forgive-Self; Realize Your Worth; and Acknowledge your
Limitations.

Customer : Okay, done.

Tech Support : Now, copy them to the “My Heart” directory. The
system will overwrite any conflicting files and begin patching faulty
programming. Also, you need to delete Verbose Self-Criticism from all
directories and empty your Recycle Bin to make sure it is completely
gone and never comes back.

Customer : Got it. Hey! My heart is filling up with new files.
Smile is playing on my monitor and Peace and Contentment are copying
themselves all over My Heart. Is this normal?

Tech Support : Sometimes. For others it takes awhile, but
eventually everything gets it at the proper time. So Love is installed
and running. One more thing before we hang up. Love is Freeware. Be sure
to give it and its various modules to everyone you meet. They will in
turn share it with others and return some cool modules back to you.

Customer : Thank you, God.

GOD: What are you busy with? Ants are busy, too.

IMM: Don't know. But I can't find free time. Life has become hectic. It's rush hour all the time.

GOD: Sure. Activity gets you busy. But productivity gets you results. Activity consumes time. Productivity frees it.

IMM: But I still can't figure it out. By the way, I was not expecting YOU to buzz me on instant messaging chat.

GOD: Well, I wanted to help you resolve your fight for time by giving you some clarity. I wanted to reach you through the medium you are comfortable with.

IMM: Tell me, why has life become so complicated?

GOD: Stop analysing life. Just live it. Analysis is what makes it complicated.

IMM: Why are we then constantly unhappy?

GOD: Your today is the tomorrow that you worried about yesterday.You are worrying because the act of worrying has become a habit. That's why you are not happy.

IMM: But how can we not worry when there is so much uncertainty?

GOD: Uncertainty is inevitable, but worrying is optional.

IMM: But still, why should we go through such tests? Why can't we be free from problems?

GOD: Problems are Purposeful Roadblocks Offering Beneficial Lessons to Enhance Mental Strength. Inner strength comes from struggle and endurance, not when you are free from problems.

IMM: Frankly in the midst of so many problems, we don't know where we are heading.

GOD: If you look outside you will not know where you are heading. Look inside. Looking outside, you dream. Looking inside, you awaken. Eyes provide sight. Heart provides insight.

IMM: Sometimes not succeeding fast seems to hurt more than moving in the right direction.

GOD: Success is relative, quantified by others. Satisfaction is absolute,quantified by you. Knowing the road ahead is more satisfying than knowing you rode ahead..

IMM: Sometimes I ask, who am I, why am I here? I don't know the answers.

Finding Purpose and Meaning

Much of life is spent on seeking purpose and meaning. For me, the process seems to have intensified with age.

We all want to find meaning and purpose. But when we begin to realize that the very living of our lives is part of that purpose we start to recognize some other valuable things. For one, I've discovered that I can create plans, visualize the future, prepare in depth - but I'm not in control. So I have to look at what I'm doing. It is the self examined life that yields benefit. However, not just self examination so that I know myself better. It is important to know who I am, what I believe and where I've been. But I can't predict the future and I need to learn that everything...everything... is ultimately a gift.

What I've discovered is that finding purpose and meaning in life is just the beginning. The journey continues and living by letting go to the guiding light of God is the right way to approach each day and moment.

So often the way to better understand something requires that I first figure out what it is not. My purpose in life is not whatever my "job" or work occupation might be. Work is important and necessary. Work is good. The fruits of our labor add to our appreciation of life and are the byproducts of living our purpose. It is often frustrating to be in a job or work situation solely because it is the means to pay the bills and provide basic necessities. But my identity and self worth should not be measured just by what job I hold.

Hard Lessons

This has been a hard lesson. For years I've been wrapped up in whatever my job was. I have a born desire to do things that are interesting, fun and part of my natural abilities. However, another aspect of the purpose of life — a very essential aspect — is to keep growing. To grow I must be stretched. I must leave the comfort of what I know and can do and strive to do something new, different and ideally better. That's often frightening. Fear can keep me from leaving that comfort zone, but fear also holds me back from growth.

To discover the gifts God has given us we must keep exploring, learning and trying new things. Sometimes this is hard because we don't know where it is leading. I sometimes wonder if it is wasted effort. None of it is truly wasted, but I usually want to take the shortcuts. And I worry I’ll miss out on opportunities because I was “climbing a ladder on the wrong wall”. Of course, God takes all our effort, all our searching, even our misdirection, and brings good from it.

Learning from past mistakes is using the brains God gave us. Discerning the difference between not going down a path that has proven futile and persevering on a path because it has not yet yielded results can be tricky. Sitting quietly in prayer helps. Also being honest with ourselves. If I start to move in a direction only because it is comforting and pleasing and holds the illusion of security then I must pause and reconsider.

Commitment

There comes a time for all of us when we have a pretty good grasp of our purpose and we see how things have connected to provide meaning for us. Then comes an important next step — commitment. I decide "this I will do". I pledge to continue. I won't stop because it gets too hard. My only reason to not continue in the direction that has been revealed as the next right course is if God reveals a different way. An example that comes to mind is St. Paul and his missionary efforts. In the Acts of the Apostles (Acts 16:6-8) he wants to carry the Gospel message to a part of Asia. Scripture says the Holy Spirit prevented him from going that way. So he had to change course. His intentions were good; his motives were good. But it was not where God wanted him to go.

At times I feel like I don't know which direction to head. For the reasons already stated I can get confused or misdirected. I need the "compass" of the Spirit to point me in the right direction.

I also need the strength and courage to go where God is leading when I don't want to go. Fear holds me back. Fear may be expressed in doubt, anger, frustration, worry, resentment or despair. When these things assault me I need to pray that God will lift me up. Remember, with God all things are possible.

Discipline

From commitment must come discipline. An athlete must train, and continue to train, to do those things that will strengthen and improve performance. Most athletes have a training program and they usually have a coach or trainer. In my endeavors I must have discipline. I don't need to live in expectations of my results for the events I am "training for". But I do need to stick with my training, or when I slack off to have the dedication and willingness to resume. I should rely on the expertise of others and to let my “coaches” direct me.

One of my greatest desires is to do meaningful and useful work for God's purpose. I believe God's purpose is for all of us - all His children - to grow in love and service to each other. This brings glory to God and to creation. When I am in sync with God's purpose for me my work should flow. It may still be difficult, but if it is the work I am called to do it should come to me relatively easy because it will use the talents I have been gifted with.

Finding purpose and meaning, committing to it with discipline and effort and going with the flow will result in our usefulness. Go for it – it is part of God's Divine Plan.

Loving the Unloveable.

I hit the red button in front of me. A light bulb lit up and a buzzzz sound rang out.

My scholastic bowl coach, Ms. Lemon, had just asked the last question of our practice match. The score was tied. And I knew the answer. The question: "Who wrote Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea?"

Mrs. Lemon called on me as I started laughing so hard I couldn't get the name "Jules Verne" out.

"Time's up," she said. And then, the other team won.

As I was leaving practice, Ms. Lemon pulled me aside. "You lost that for your team," she said, her voice shaking. "And I know why. Jules Verne made you think of Vern didn't it?"

Everyone at my school knew Vern. He smelled. He wore big work boots and torn shirts every day. And he didn't seem too bright. When Jules Verne came to mind, I was laughing at the idea of Vern writing a book.

"Vern doesn't deserve to be treated that way," Ms. Lemon said. "What makes you think he's so unlovable that he doesn't deserve simple respect?"

I had no answer. Suddenly feeling hot and sweaty, I apologized to her and left. But one word stuck with me for days: unlovable. I kept thinking about all the people in my high school who did seem downright unlovable. There were strange outcasts like Vern. There were mean kids like Justin, the bully who always called me fat. And there were crabby, annoying people like those guys in my algebra study group who never agreed about anything. Clearly, I thought, all of these people are unlovable.

But as a Christian, I'm supposed to love them all.

Perhaps Jesus' toughest teaching is to "love your neighbor as yourself" (Mark 12: 31, NIV). Sure, that seems easy enough—until you really think about what it means. He didn't say "like" them. He said "love" them. And you don't get to pick who your neighbor is. It's everyone—from Vern to Justin to your little brother who shampoos your hair while you sleep. (OK, maybe only my brother did that.)

Were Jesus' expectations too high? I mean, he never had to go to high school. If so, surely he'd know that it's not so easy to love everybody.

Well, that's a cool thing about Jesus. He wasn't just God on High shouting down orders. He experienced what we experience. When he told us to live a certain way, it was coming from a guy who'd been there. He lived on Earth—and probably knew his share of Verns and Justins. And he had little brothers.

However, Jesus understood two important truths:

1) Everyone is created in God's image. So if we are worthy of love, so is everyone else because of who made them. 2) Because of sin, we're all really unlovable. But Christ changed the rules by offering love, grace and forgiveness (Romans 5:8). If God can love us, surely we can love those around us.

But how do we do it?

Recently, I heard a pastor give a sermon about John 13. It changed how I view treating the hard-to-like people around me.

Here's the big thing the pastor said that blew my mind: At the Last Supper, Jesus was in the same room with a bunch of people about to betray him, deny him and desert him. And he knew it. Talk about hard-to like people. But what does Jesus do? "He got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist. After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples' feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him" (John 13:4-5, NIV).

Whoa. He's surrounded by guys who don't deserve his love or respect. And he washes their feet.

Right here, Jesus shows how to love the unlovables. It's not to just tolerate them. Or just not make fun of them. Or to pretend you love them. Instead, we should serve them.

Here's why: 1) Serving gives us an easy way to see how we should love. It's not just some mushy, hard-to-grasp emotion, but an action. 2) Serving someone has a way of changing the way we see them. If you are continually looking out for a way to help someone, it's very hard to think they're worthless. It's very hard to stay mad at them.

Of course, it'd be weird to whip out a towel and lather up a bully's feet. But serving them starts with praying for them. And then look for opportunities. Maybe it's holding a door open when someone is carrying his band instrument. Or spotting someone a quarter when she's short for a soda.

I wish I could say that I helped Vern with math problems. Or helped Justin jump his car. But I didn't. However, those regrets push me to make the choice to serve the Justins and Verns in my life now. And that's exactly what it is: a choice. Galatians 5:13 puts it like this: "It is absolutely clear that God has called you to a free life. Just make sure that you don't use this freedom as an excuse to do whatever you want … Rather, use your freedom to serve one another in love".

To all faithful readers of this blog out there,this might be my last post as Ms Blogger for the year*sob*As the new committee steps in,we'll be having a new blogger to update you guys on whats happening in the CU.

Looking back,I thank God for this CU.It may not be as jeng or hyper as other schools CU but it is full of warmth,laughter and food!haha...yes nuggets and french fries are our best buddies=)

I almost didn't made it to ACS for form 6 in fact I really wanted to go to STAR bt God had a different plan for me and here I am,having the best 1 and a half year of school.Trust me,enjoy every moment in school,make the best of it!CU was of course the main highlight of the week and in tht last hour of lessons before CU starts seems like the slowest moving hour.

Anyways,I'll be posting something thts really dear to me...(as you can read the title)

Throughout my time in school,I noticed something really special abt this sch.Plaques on the school walls tht are not only historical but also a testimony to the greatness of God.

I'll show you what I mean...

Hmm,read it again...dont you feel a sense of pride?It says its 'dedicated to the glory of God'.Not only tht,but to the 'education of youth'.Now,thts just the start...
Ok,Im sure most of you weren't even born during Mr D.R Daniel's time.(I dont even know who is he or whether he is still alive!)Haha,but he must have done sometime great for this school to have his name plastered on the wall for generations to see.So,for all of you out there,you want your name to be plastered on the wall too?Then love the school,take care of it(stop grafitti-ing it with your shoemarks!) and love the people in it!

P.S:Did you notice on the above column tht says the sch was 'direstui oleh Bishop'?Nowadays I doubt tht theres any bishops or pastors who are given the opportunity to bless a school in this country..

Alright...Im not so sure if you're able to read the plaque but it just says tht the building was opened by His Highness the Sultan of Selangor...Wow,not bad,eh.I bet most schools these days only get some pengawai frm the jabatan to come and officiate the building.ACS must be a really good school for it to be honoured in tht way.So,ppl,continue to make this school known k?But not for the wrong reasonsla please....

Take a good look at these 2 pictures.It is originally a very important piece of historical information and contains the name of a very cool person who officiated the school.But look at it now,you can barely read it without getting hurt by the obscene scribblings.It has been horribly disfigured by students who dont know how to appreciate the heritage of this century old school.

If you were to read it properly,you will find tht the very person tht you read in your history bokks has in fact,made a visit to our school,Sir Edward Gent!The Governor of Malayan Union.I know,I know.In history,he seemed to be the villain of our country by taking away the powers of the Sultans and well you know the story...However it still is an honour to receive the High Commisioner to our school.Again too,we notice the words 'education of youth'.

I dont know about you,but seeing it does make me feel really important and makes me wanna study hard.

So,I hope tht by now you will have a greater sense of love and pride towards the school.It is not just for ACSians but for everyone else in schools.God has placed you there for a purpose and tht is to make His name known.Be a good testimony in school and 'let your light shine before men'(Matt 5:16).

Thank God too for the missionaries that made the long and hard journey to Malaysia 100 years ago to set up these schools you see today.If it weren't for them,we wouldn't have had ACS,La Salle,Convent,MGS and the various other missionary schools tht you see today who have made a mark by being among the finest schools in Malaysia.More importantly also is tht by being missionary schools,we have the rights and privilege to have Christian Unions.Other schools do not have tht and instead of just being thankful only,let me challenge you to encourage and support the CF/CU in schools tht do not allow them to be official.Help those in need whether financially or just by visiting them.

As you walk down the corridors of this school,take time to look at these plaques.Appreciate this school and everything else tht it represents.Truly God loves this school and what we all can do,is to tell of His great love to others.

Ok,here's another really really late post.Our last CU mtg of 08...*sobs*.If I'm nt wrong the meeting was on the 24th of October.As usual,praise and worship,followed by a round of games and then makan!I realised as I remember the things we do in CU,is tht its nt abt how chun or how interesting the game or whatever programme tht we are having is but it is abt the us,the ppl and how we respond to it(the programme).I remembered tht the games we had tht day were games tht we had played before,nothing new but yet we all had a good time.So,the next time you have a game or a programme tht you've had before,dont go 'oh,again?' but think of ways where you can improve on tht certain programme=)

Day Of Prayer 2008

Hey guys!sry for the delay in posting this...

Aight,the Day of Prayer event happened about 3 weeks ago on the 27th of Sept 2008 in La Salle Klg.About 60 plus students came frm all over Klang to pray mostly concentrating on the end yr,PMR,SPM & STPM exams.

We were blessed to hv Ps Gurmit to come preach to us and I can say tht the event wasn't just about praying for each other but we also received alot of encouragement in return

One thing I learnt was tht trust is of utmost importance especially when the exams are so so so near,no matter how much studying (or the lack of) tht we may put in,we still tend to get the jitters as we step into the exam hall and open the question papers for the first time.When I think of tht,I always rmbr wht Matt 10 says abt trusting in Him ...

Rest assured tht we are way more valuable tht some little sparrows.So dont worry too much,stop counting down the days,study if u've yet to do so and TRUST in Him!

Getting back to the event,about ...hmm,let me see...Pei Ern,Joshua,Pei Ling,Alexis,Daniel,Jerry...(I hope Im nt missing anyone out),I think abt 6 or 7 of us ACSians went for the event.I knw tht many of the mbrs wanted to go bt bcos of exams and tight schedules,nt many was able to make it.Hopefully we could all go next yr ya?haha.

We started out with PnW lead by none other than our very own President,Mr Daniel Ng Yee Lee,haha.Then it was on to the preaching,praying for one another,prayer by Pastor and ending with another song by the PnW team.All in all it was great to come together and be united as one.Big thanks goes to the LaSalle CF for organizing this event.Here's some pics: ( there's even a video on the event on the La Salle blog)

Oh yea,Ps Gurmit also gathered the CU leaders and comms to share with them of a kind of Prayer network,probly a webpage or blog to keep us all updated abt the pryr needs of the Klang CU's.And did you notice the sign tht said 'La Salle the best school in Klang'?

Hey guys!I received this mail recently and thought tht it would be great to share it with you.May you be a shining example like this man in the story!
Several years ago, a preacher from out-of-state accepted a call to a church in Houston, Texas. Some weeks after he arrived, he had an occasion to ride the bus from his home to the downtown area. When he sat down, he discovered that the driver had accidentally given him a quarter too much change. As he considered what to do, he thought to himself, 'You'd better give the quarter back. It would be wrong to keep it.' Then he thought, 'Oh, forget it, it's only a quarter. Who would worry about this little amount? Anyway, the bus company gets too much fare; they will never miss it. Accept it as a 'gift from God' and keep quiet.'
When his stop came, he paused momentarily at the door, and then he handed the quarter to the driver and said, 'Here, you gave me too much change.'
The driver, with a smile, replied, 'Aren't you the new preacher in town?''Yes' he replied.'Well, I have been thinking a lot lately about going somewhere to worship. I just wanted to see what you would do if I gave you too much change. I'll see you at church on Sunday.'
When the preacher stepped off of the bus, he literally grabbed the nearest light pole, held on, and said, 'Oh God, I almost sold your Son for a quarter!'
Our lives are the only Bible some people will ever read. This is a really scary example of how much people watch us as Christians, and will put us to the test!
Always be on guard -- and remember -- You carry the name of Christ on your shoulders when you call yourself 'Christian'.
Watch your thoughts; they become words.
Watch your words; they become actions.
Watch your actions; they become habits.
Watch your habits; they become character.
Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.

Nyways,im just here to report on what happened 2 weeks back during CU meeting.

As planned,we had our lower 6 welcome..and a total of SIX new lower 6ers came! WOOHYA!

Prayer meetings are always good and fun!yea,hard to believe bt its true:)Just come n hear all the laughter we hv...haha

bt most of all,we learn something everytime we come together....

So today Alex was sharing about an experience tht he had in his youth camp recently,

He started of by saying tht actually he didnt want to go for it cos he was tired and all,just finish exams...but at last he wentla,thts hw I hv sumting to share to day...:)

There was this activity in his camp.Each person had to pick a card.Each card had a different period of time;1 hour,1 day,1 week,1 month etc...And there was a question;

What if Jesus were to come back in tht period of time?

Alex,very luckily,gt the '1 hour' card.Haha,So what was he's response?Well,he said he became very emo....yup,i guess most of us would most prob do tht...Stop n stare.

After he shared,we were,well..emo?haha.And quite surprisingly,we all started sharing abt our different 'End of the world' experiences too...

But we came to a conclusion,in tht we should not focus too much on whats gonna happen,cos its something that we would not knw...bt we should focus more on what we as Christians should do nw...with the time has been given by God:)

I wanna end this with this verse.Dont be worried when you read it,bt learn from it and act upon it!
'So when the apostles were with Jesus, they kept asking him, “Lord, has the time come for you to free Israel and restore our kingdom?”
He replied, “The Father alone has the authority to set those dates and times, and they are not for you to know.But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. So prayer meetings aren't just about prayer,its about fellowship and learning from one another;)

As u all knw,the Interschool rally this year is not just another rally as we will also be celebrating its 10th Anniversary...10 years of God's faithfullness over the CU and CF's of the city of Klang!

So a grand celebration calls for a grand venue aight?AND....a 'GRAND' budget....

When ppl say Interschool rally,the image tht pops into our mind immediately is HinHua hall!
But this year its gonna be DIFFERENT!This year we are going OUT!...To KOMPLEKS SUKAN PANDAMARAN KLANG!
I knw...you'll be like what????Stadium?haiyo.....so hot,so 'boh song',so so so.....
